The people who practice urban forestry come from a variety of disciplines. Certified arborists, landscape architects, planners, engineers, and many others work to perform proper tree maintenance, engineer sound infrastructures and create environmentally sensitive landscape designs — all activities that affect the health of our urban forest.
HSUFP promotes the development of a well-informed group of qualified professionals by providing workshops and other resources which will result in the wise management and overall improvement of the health of our urban forest — a benefit for every citizen and visitor to the state of Hawai‘i.
The mission of the Hawai‘i Society of Urban Forestry Professionals is to ensure a well-managed and enhanced urban environment of Hawai‘i by improving and refining the art and science of urban forestry.
